Sync methods

SecondLoop supports local-only usage and multiple sync backends.

Sync modes

  • Local-only: no remote sync, everything stays on this device.
  • WebDAV (your server): bring-your-own remote storage endpoint.
  • Folder on this computer (desktop): local directory sync backend.
  • SecondLoop Cloud: managed vault sync (account + entitlement dependent).

Required fields by mode

WebDAV

  • Server address
  • Folder name (remote root)
  • Optional username/password

Folder on this computer

  • Folder path
  • Folder name (remote root namespace)

SecondLoop Cloud

  • Signed-in cloud account
  • Cloud vault endpoint (normally auto-resolved; advanced override in debug flow)
  • Recovery passphrase workflow for cross-device recovery

Sync behavior controls

  • Auto sync on/off
  • Wi-Fi only auto sync
  • Media download Wi-Fi only
  • Media upload controls (when backend supports media upload path)

Manual controls

  • Test connection (WebDAV / local folder modes)
  • Push now / Pull now style actions
  • Recovery package hint + recover-now flow (when available)

Recovery passphrase

  • Use one passphrase consistently across devices.
  • The passphrase is treated as advanced recovery material and is not uploaded as plain vault content.

Choosing a mode

  • Want maximum control: WebDAV or local folder mode.
  • Want less operational setup: SecondLoop Cloud mode.
  • Want no remote data path: local-only (no sync configured).
