Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of SecondLoop (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service​

SecondLoop is a local-first app for capturing notes, links, and todos, with optional AI features and (optionally) sync.

2. Eligibility​

You must be legally able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the Service.

3. Your data and your responsibility​

  • You are responsible for the content you create and store in SecondLoop.
  • Where supported, we design the product so your vault content remains encrypted and under your control.
  • You are responsible for keeping backups and protecting access to your devices and credentials.

4. AI features and third-party providers​

If you enable AI features:

  • In BYOK mode, you provide your own AI provider credentials and requests go directly to that provider.
  • In Cloud mode, requests may be routed through the SecondLoop gateway and forwarded to an upstream provider.

Your use of any third-party provider is subject to their terms and policies.

5. Acceptable use​

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by:

  • Attempting to bypass rate limits, entitlement checks, or security controls.
  • Using the Service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive activities.

6. Paid features (if applicable)​

Some features may require a subscription. Pricing, billing cycle, and included usage limits (if any) will be shown at purchase time and may change over time. We may apply fair-use protections to prevent abuse.

7. Disclaimers​

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. AI outputs may be inaccurate and should not be relied on as professional advice.

8. Limitation of liability​

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data or profits.

9. Changes to the Service or Terms​

We may update the Service and these Terms. We will update the “Last updated” date above.
